Tucker Budzyn was the golden retriever who made millions laugh with his expressive face, love of chimken and pool time, and endless suspicion of Linda. He died on September 2, 2026, at age eight after complications related to lymphoma, leaving behind a family who adored him and an online community that had watched him grow from a fluffy puppy.

This Tucker Budzyn tribute remembers the funny captions, dramatic stares, swimming adventures, and little moments that made him so easy to love. Tucker was famous, but to longtime followers, he also felt wonderfully familiar.

Who Was Tucker Budzyn?

Courtney Budzyn brought Tucker home in 2018 and soon began sharing photos and videos of her new golden retriever. What started with one fluffy puppy grew into a huge community across Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook.

Millions eventually knew his name, but numbers only explain part of Tuckerโ€™s appeal. His real talent was turning ordinary dog behavior into comedy. Tucker always looked suspicious of something, and somehow Linda was usually to blame.

In the world Courtney created around his expressions, she became โ€œLinda,โ€ chicken became โ€œchimken,โ€ humans became โ€œhoomans,โ€ and every small inconvenience had the potential to turn into a hekkin serious problem.

A head tilt, a side-eye, or one deeply offended stare could carry an entire joke before the caption even appeared.

The Tucker Expressions We Never Got Tired Of

Some dogs simply look happy. Tucker seemed to have a full range of opinions, and his followers learned to recognize almost all of them.

One of his early captions captured exactly how seriously he could take an encounter with his own reflection.

Hekkin mirror did me the biggest dang trickery fren.

The original @tuckerbudzyn post was shared as one of his โ€œTiny Tucker Tuesdayโ€ memories. A mirror was not simply a mirror in Tuckerโ€™s world. It was an act of trickery that required immediate investigation.

That was part of the fun of following him. Everyday objects suddenly had motives, vegetables were questionable, and Linda frequently seemed involved in some sort of scheme.

The Great Veggie Problem

Food was one of Tuckerโ€™s most reliable sources of joy and betrayal. Meat was good, chicken was excellent, and vegetables could apparently complicate negotiations.

Linda makes me eats the dang veggies before I can gets da meats.

The caption appeared on the official @tuckerbudzyn account and perfectly matched his less-than-impressed expression. In Tuckerโ€™s world, eating vegetables before meat was not sensible nutrition. It was another strange rule imposed by hoomans.

That running joke only grew over time. Fans quickly learned that chimken held a special place in Tuckerโ€™s heart, which also gave Linda considerable bargaining power.

Chimken Versus Self-Control

In 2020, Tucker joined the popular โ€œleave itโ€ challenge. Courtney placed chicken in front of him, which already felt like an unfair test if you understood his priorities.

His official Instagram caption explained the situation from Tuckerโ€™s point of view.

Hekkin Linda doin me a torture wif da chimken.

There is outrage, chimken, and Linda in one short sentence. In other words, it is about as Tucker as a caption can get.

These jokes were silly, and that was exactly why they worked. Tuckerโ€™s corner of the internet offered a place where the crisis of the day might simply involve a piece of chicken sitting slightly too close to a golden retriever.

Why Tuckerโ€™s Videos Felt So Comforting

Tuckerโ€™s popularity was not built on complicated stories. Most of the time, people were watching a dog react to food, toys, family members, strange objects, or whatever new nonsense Linda had planned for him.

Yet that simplicity was part of the comfort. His videos appeared in feeds filled with news, arguments, work, deadlines, and everything else competing for attention. Then Tucker showed up, often looking mildly offended by something completely harmless.

One 2021 video gave a perfect example. Courtney pretended she could not see Tucker while repeatedly calling his name, leaving him increasingly confused about why Linda seemed unable to locate the dog sitting right beside her.

Tuckerโ€™s caption turned the solution into a three-step troubleshooting guide.

Restart your hooman in three easy steps: Boop, Bork, Fart.

The official @tuckerbudzyn video passed one million views as Tucker tried increasingly creative ways to fix his apparently malfunctioning hooman. Its appeal was wonderfully uncomplicated. It was a dog trying to repair Linda.

That kind of humor gave Tuckerโ€™s videos an easy warmth. You did not need to know what happened in the previous episode or understand an elaborate joke. You only needed a few seconds and an appreciation for a very confused golden retriever.

Pool Time Was Serious Business

If chimken was one of Tuckerโ€™s great loves, swimming was another. Pool time was not just an occasional summer activity for him. It was serious business.

That became especially clear during the winter of 2025. After the family closed their backyard pool for the season, Tucker kept returning to it, sitting beside the cover even while snow and ice surrounded the yard. The video showed him waiting day after day as if summer might arrive sooner if he stared at the pool long enough.

Courtney eventually decided that telling Tucker to wait for warmer weather was getting them nowhere. She surprised him and Todd with a trip to an indoor saltwater pool in Michigan, where the two goldens could jump in and finally get back to swimming.

Longtime Tucker followers hardly needed an explanation for his excitement. The dog who could turn waiting for chimken into a major event took his pool time just as seriously.

That memory feels especially sweet now because swimming remained one of Tuckerโ€™s favorite things near the end of his life. Courtney later shared that during his final weeks, he went swimming several times and still launched himself into the pool with the same enthusiasm she remembered.

Linda, Dad, and the Family Behind Tucker

For all the jokes about Linda, Tuckerโ€™s account was always rooted in family. Courtney gave him his comic voice, but she also documented the ordinary parts of his life as he grew, played, swam, ate, napped, and welcomed new members into his world.

Even Tuckerโ€™s choice between Courtney and Mike came down to the most Tucker-like reason possible.

I mean… dadโ€™s cool and all, but Linda gibs all the chimken.

The official video asked Tucker to choose between his mom and dad. He followed Courtney more often, and his caption offered a perfectly reasonable explanation. Love is love, but access to chimken should apparently never be ignored when making important family decisions.

Behind the joke was the relationship that made the entire account possible. Tucker could not type captions or edit videos, of course, but the personality people loved came from the way Courtney knew him well enough to imagine exactly what that face might be saying.

As a result, Tucker never felt like a generic talking-dog character. After enough videos, he had his own rhythm, vocabulary, priorities, and very strong opinions about Linda.

Tucker and Todd Gave Fans Another Story to Follow

When Todd joined the family, Tuckerโ€™s world grew again. Fans who had spent years watching one fluffy golden retriever suddenly had a father-and-son duo bringing even more golden chaos to their feeds.

Todd brought his own personality, while Tucker remained unmistakably Tucker. Their wrestling, swimming, playing, and quiet moments together added another chapter to a story many followers had already watched for years.

That history helps explain why Tuckerโ€™s death has felt unusually personal to so many people. Fans did not discover him through one viral video and then move on. Many watched him grow from puppyhood, followed the arrival of Todd, and returned to his videos because they knew what sort of happiness waited there.

Social media can make that connection difficult to explain. Tucker belonged to his family, but checking in on Tucker and Todd also became part of other peopleโ€™s routines, one of the softer and sillier corners of the internet.

Of All the Sniffs I Love the Most Will Carry Tuckerโ€™s Story Forward

Tuckerโ€™s story is also moving from a screen to the page.

His first picture book, Of All the Sniffs I Love the Most, is scheduled for release on November 17, 2026. The rhyming story follows Tucker through adventures, hard days, family life, and the lesson that the best things are often found beside the ones we love.

The book was already intended as a keepsake before Tucker died. Now it carries a different kind of weight. On the official book page, Courtney explains that the love Tucker received from his followers inspired the family to turn his story into something people could hold in their hands and keep.

That feels fitting for Tucker, especially since so much of his life was shared in videos that lasted only seconds. A book gives those memories somewhere a little more permanent to land, while allowing another generation of families to meet the good boy behind all that floof.

There is also something wonderfully Tucker about the way the official book page introduces him. It calls him a chicken connoisseur, an expert butt sniffer, and a very, very good boy. Even in book form, apparently, the important qualifications made the final edit.

Tuckerโ€™s Final Weeks Were Still Full of Tucker Things

Tucker was diagnosed with lymphoma shortly before his death. Although treatment initially appeared to be working, he suffered a sudden complication, and his family had to say goodbye on September 2.

Courtney later shared that Tuckerโ€™s final weeks were also filled with the things he loved. He visited parks, rolled in the grass, wrestled with Todd, enjoyed chicken morning and night, and went swimming. She remembered how strong his first jump into the pool still was.

Those details feel more like Tucker than the illness does. Pool time, Todd, grass under his fur, and plenty of chimken sound much closer to the dog millions of people came to know.

His last chapter was painfully short, but it was still filled with many of the simple pleasures that had always made up Tuckerโ€™s world.

The Floof Will Be Missed

Tucker could make even a perfectly ordinary photograph sound like something only he would post. One official Instagram caption summed up that combination of fluff and confidence rather nicely.

Feelin floofyโ€ฆmight delete later.

Thankfully, Tucker did not delete later. The photos, videos, ridiculous captions, dramatic stares, pool adventures, food negotiations, and general suspicion of Linda are still there for people to revisit.

That may be part of what makes losing an internet-famous pet so unusual. We know Tucker is gone, yet a tiny Tucker can still tumble across a screen. Another Tucker can wait beside a frozen pool, investigate a suspicious mirror, or stare at Linda as though she has committed an unforgivable crime involving chimken.

Those moments cannot replace him, but they preserve something joyful. For a dog whose fame came from living in the moment, he left behind an extraordinary number of moments worth returning to.

Remembering Tucker Budzyn

Tucker Budzyn gave the internet eight years of floof, pool jumps, side-eye, chimken obsession, and expressions we will all dearly miss seeing again. Courtney gave those expressions a voice, and together they created a personality people could recognize within seconds.

His story ended much sooner than anyone expected, but it did not end with the sad news. Tucker is still there in the videos that made people laugh, in Todd and the family who loved him, and in a book made to keep his story close.

For a dog who spent so much time suspicious of Linda, Tucker gave his hoomans an extraordinary amount of trust, laughter, and love. His videos still make people smile, and that may be the best way to remember one very good, very floofy boy.

Have all the chimken and pool time you want in dog heaven, sweet boy.
